2012-13 summary

Tim Woodcock celebrated a fantastic final season with the Hinton Under 12's with cup and league double success.  Tim has guided these young players for several years and has signed off as a manager with series of results that signify the skill and playing strength of the under 12s.

The cup success was gained at Edgar street with a convincing display against Bromyard, and the sustained performances provided a string of league victories that sealed the title win several games in hand.

Unfortunately this young side will dissolve after this season, due to a successor to follow Tim has not been found.  It is a great disappointment for Hinton that this has occurred, and we wish all players and parents our best wishes for the future and thank them for their loyal support of Tim, and his managements team in the previous seasons, and we hope to see you again in Hinton colours in the future

22nd Sept

Hinton travelled to their first away game of the season on Sunday to play Ross Junior Royals. Hinton started brightly with 3 early goals with both Charlie Clarke & Owain Woodcock getting off the mark for the season and Jamie Taylor adding 1 more, unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse 20 minutes into the game making playing conditions difficult for both teams.

Ross started the second half brightly and but for some brilliant defending from young Jake McQuilkin could have scored a couple of goals, however, the outcome of the game was decided with further goals for Hinton for Jamie Taylor & Joel Nicholls who both continued their form of scoring in each game this season so far.

9th Sept

Hinton under 12's started their 2012-13 season with a visit from Wellington.
There was a little nervousness from Tim Woodcock before this fixture as Hinton are a much changed outfit from the previous season following the departures of 4 players and Steve Price from the coaching team and the arrivals of 6 new players and Paul Lewis to the coaching team, the squad also consists of 3 U11's.

Those nerves quickly disappeared as Hinton scored their first goal inside 45 secs, with a defence splitting pass from the midfield to put Joel Nicholls through to open his and Hinton's account for the new season. This goal helped the whole team settle and go on to totally control the game with some exceptional football played by all the boy's, their passing and finishing was a joy to watch and resulted in some fantastic goals.
Hinton eventually ran out 10-1 winners with Joel Nicholls going on to score 5, Jamie Taylor & Tom Dixon both scoring 2 each and Joe McQuilkin chipping with a great back post header to complete the set.
A lot of credit should also go to Hinton's opponents, Wellington, who worked hard to contain a team in such sparkling form on a really hot day.
